ComputerBits install new wireless hotspot

The ComputerBits store on Chapel-en-le-Frith market place has setup a free-hotspot.com wi-fi access point. Now anyone visiting the market place area with a wireless connection can use the broadband gateway at zero-cost!

They have also installed a Zonerider hotspot to replace their BT Openzone hotspot.

Grants

Grants are available for the repair or restoration of historic elements of buildings in two areas of Chapel-en-le-Frith.

The eligible items include slate or stone roofs and traditional gutters and rainwater pipes, traditional mullioned or sash windows, traditional timber doors and shop fronts and the repair or pointing of brickwork and stonework. Other items may be considered in conjunction with these categories.

6.oopmJudging of Shops, Houses, Pubs, & Lamp Posts

Saturday 20th June
12 Noon – Judging of floats & fancy dress at The Jolly Carter on Buxton Road

1.oopm – Grand Procession – commencing from The Jolly Carter on Buxton Road via Town End, Market Street, Manchester Road, Long Lane, Rowton Grange Road to the Memorial Park.

2.45pm – Parade of visiting Royalty followed by the Crowning Ceremony of the 2009 Carnival Royalty. There will be various attractions, band displays, side stall and fairground rides.

Sunday 21st June
From 10am Car Boot Sale at the Shoulder of Mutton.

2.00pm – Pet Show in the Memorial Park

3.00pm – Tug Of War in the Memorial Park

Tuesday 23rd June
6.oopm – The 2009 Royalty will visit Whitestones & Ecclesfold led by the Boys & Girls Brigade bands. From Whitestones along Manchester Road to Ecclesfold then disbanding at the New Inn. Please give them a Cheer!

8.oopm – Quiz Night to be held at The Royal Oak, Prizes to be won (Entry on the night £3.50 per person – including supper)

Wednesday 24th June
From 7.oopm – Classic Cars and Bikes at The Old Pack Horse

Friday 26th June
6.00pm – Car Treasure Hunt starting at Thornbrook Road car park.
Entry fee £5 per car + New for 2009 a Walking Treasure Hunt

7.00pm – BBQ at The Old Pack Horse: everyone welcome, delicious food, Drawing of the Carnival Raffle

Sunday 5th July
10.30am the 2009 Carnival Royalty will attend morning worship at The Methodist Church Followed by the Blessing of the Wells
