Figure Yoga & Arts Factory

The end of February will see two new classes at Chapel en Le Frith Town Hall. My name is Jill Forrest and I have recently moved to Whaley Bridge after 6 years in Norway where I opened my first yoga studio and continued my work as a professional theatre director and children’s arts education officer. I am also an author and web tv host along with being a mother of two small children.

YOGA

I created Figure Yoga as I am a qualified yoga teacher and teacher trainer, host of www.yogababy.tv and have been practising yoga for over 15 years. It is a combination of a variety of yoga styles and is suitable for everyone. It is not a meditative yoga but designed to improve on the figure you have and build upper body strength and give overall flexibility. It is an enjoyable class and has always been my most popular wherever I have taught.

You can can find more about Figure yoga at www.figureyoga.com and more about my Norwegian studio (to see what else I do!) at www.yogabode.com

Classes begin in Chapel on Tuesday 23rd Feb at 17.30 and last one hour. You will need comfortable clothing and a yoga mat (if you don’t have one I can order one for you at a cost of 30 gbp). The 10 week course will cost 50 gbp or 6 gbp to drop in. You can contact me on the details as below. See you there!

ART FACTORY

These classes will take a workshop format using a variety of arts forms to explore self and society. The aim is not to put on a traditional play but to work with theatre, movement, dance and vocal work to create unique experiences and pieces of work that may or may not be performed. For many years I have worked with children’s theatre (I am a qualified childrens theatre practitioner from Londons Central School of Speech and Drama) and have been saddened at how static it can often be, performances where confident children alwasy get lead roles and shy children stand at the back in a chorus fashion. At Art Factory every child is equal and ensemble work is paramount.

Classes begin Wednesday 24th Feb. There are two sessions of 45 minutes each. Firstly 16.30-17.15 for 5-8 year olds and 17.15-18.00 for  9-13 years. Please register by calling 01663719057 or email jill@yogababy.tv
