Belly Dancing Taster workshop with Ann, Belly Dance Tutor – Saturday 21st April 2018 – 2 – 3.30 p.m.- Chapel Town Hall – Tel. 01298 938402.
I teach and perform authentic Arabic Dance moves, not the sexual cabaret style, and we dress accordingly, which requires no show of flesh. It was traditionally done for women by women, or for men by men, and I like to help destroy the myth that Belly Dancing is solely a means of titillation and baring your flesh. It is not. However, it does have its’ sensual side – it’s all about how it makes you feel.
We all get more inhibited about our bodies, the older we get, and dance is a good way to shed those inhibitions, as well as improving fitness and co-ordination. It doesn’t matter what age, shape or size you are, Belly Dancing promotes positive body image, improves your posture, flexibility, and self-confidence, and is lots of fun! If you want to experience the special feeling of this ancient art which I bring to Chapel-En-Le-Frith, all you have to do is tie a large scarf around your hips and let me take you there.
