Bonfire– it looks like its happening this Year!

Chapel-en-le-Frith Annual Bonfire

Preparations look to be underway for a bonfire in the Market Place on Monday 5th November

We understand that it will start around 6:30pm with a firework display from about 7pm

see Sponsors here

Each year the bonfire is held (and it must be on the 5th Nov) and proves a great attraction for all the local kids (large as well as smaller). Fireworks in recent years have been provided by donations from local businesses and fundraising raffles etc.

Traditionally there is plenty of food as well as liquid refreshment last year Ang at the Roebuck (and again this?) had a BBQ in front of the Roebuck, some of the food being donated by the Co-op Late shop and proceeds towards this years event.  Bonfire Night is usually a busy night for the Roebuck, La Fontana, Rems etc. and it is a great time to come out and meet your neighbours and local people with a bit of warmth (from that fire) and cheer as the dark nights give the option of coziness before winter sets in

If you have some good burnable items you are welcome to bring it along on Monday afternoon, but note that we will expect a £5 donation and unfortunately we are not able to collect.

See you there!
