St George’s Day 2015
We are getting huge interest in the wonderful Flag Display Organised by Ian Clucas, everyone is agreed that it is really making Chapel stand out.
Tomorrow we have our usual Thursday Market and you may have noticed that it is very much on the up….
Many of the local businesses are making special offers to co-incide with St Georges Day.
The New Inn is doing a very traditional English Menu of four or five courses for £27.95 – £29.95 including Ham Hock Terrine, Oak Smoked Salmon, 28day aged Sirloin, & Triple Apple Pie with toasted almond ..yum!
The Roebuck Inn is doing their Full English (breakfast, that is!) ALL DAY for only a Georges Fiver.. (we can testify how good their breakfasts are)
ComputerBits are offering Car Flags to dress your car to match the town!! and just as an extra you can get the Duo Kingston Memory sticks from only £5 (these will work on your computer and tablet or smartphone)
One local resident has messaged us earlier today saying:
"had friends and family come to visit and so they all went into town, all the St Georges flags are flying and everyone commented on how unusual to celebrate the National Day so fully and on how beautiful the town looked.
Compliments passed on it looks fabulous. It made me feel so proud."
Thanks for that we are proud of you too, and also Ian Clucas who has been the driving force behind all this, so go on, "Get your 'air cut"
An additional event, with a nice flavour to go with St George, William Shakespeare and all that will be the "inauguration" of our new Vicar at St Thomas Becket Church which is also happening on Thursday evening at 7:30pm, at the church in the Market Place. Welcome!
